Among the artists who have already appeared at Müpa Budapest, it is the return of esperanza spalding that has been anticipated longest and most eagerly. As the years have passed, she has become ever harder to pin down, and her sphere of interest now extends far beyond singing and playing the bass: She now defines herself as a composer, poet, dancer, therapist, storyteller, educator, community builder, and even as an advocate for soil regeneration.

Jazzbois first burst onto the scene at the 2017 Müpa Budapest Jazz Showcase. By 2023, they were hosting Kaláka as guests at the Festival Theatre, and, a couple of years later, they were conquering major international festivals: the Leverkusener Jazztage, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, to name but a few. Jamie Cullum also dedicated an entire BBC radio show to the band, including a conversation with Viktor Sági.

A Hot Jazz Band a 2025. december 30-i hagyományos előszilveszteri koncertjével zárja 40. jubileumi évét a MOMkultban. Bár eddigi pályafutása során csupán egyszer ünnepelte születésnapját nyilvános koncert alkalmával, most ritka kivételt tesz: születésnapi koncertet hirdet. De ahogy fogalmaz: „ez még nem felezőbuli!” Persze minek is ragaszkodni egy kerek évszámhoz, ha az este zeneileg, lelkileg, emberileg is egészen kivételes alkalomnak ígérkezik.

A Vigadó Jazz Club márciusi koncertje Lemezbemutató Koncert A Red Stones egy egyéni, nagyon intenzív zenét játszó jazz quartet. Kreatív zenei világukra a modern modal jazz, a post-bop, fusion jazz jellemző, de tartalmaz kortárs és népzenei elemeket is. Mostani műsoruk gerincét a 2025 novemberében megjelent Carousel című lemezük anyaga adja.

In 2026, Müpa Budapest will be spotlighting Hungarian jazz talent through the Jazz Showcase for the nineteenth year running. Alongside established performers, countless young artists have been introduced in recent years to dazzle the jury and captivate audiences. Now, for this special occasion, they return as a one-of-a-kind big band, like members of a large family.
