This Blue Note album was compiled from the 1947–49 recordings of Theodore "Fats" Navarro following his death at the age of 26 due to illness and addiction. He played alongside the giants of the bebop generation, including Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, and Tadd Dameron.

Michael Mayo’s family legacy and natural talent paved the way for him to blossom as an artist and eventually achieve global fame. As the third vocalist to graduate from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, he has worked alongside the institute’s founder, Herbie Hancock, as well as with Kneebody, Christian Sands and Gretchen Parlato.

The ensemble formed by singer-pianist Tamara Mózes and keyboardist-composer Zsolt Kaltenecker is constantly looking for unique ways to blend jazz, pop, rock, electronic sounds, progressive elements and improvisation.

The Budapest Jazz Orchestra answers this question with its concert QUEEN – Real JAZZ.  The initially unusual idea was a long-cherished project of jazz drummer Zsolt Madai, brought to life as a large-scale production with the support of artistic director Gábor Kollmann.

Based on their acclaimed ECM Records album Transylvanian Dance (ECM, 2024) Romanian pianist Lucian Ban and American violinist Mat Maneri are rethinking through improvisation the 20th century Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s field recordings of folk songs from Transylvania. In their performance they use video projections that show rare original footages, excerpts from Bartók’s original wax cylinder audio recordings, handwritten manuscripts and photographs taken by Bartók during his field trips.

A 29-year-old female bass player from India. These few words are enough for most people to immediately think of Mohini Dey. Despite her young age, pages could be filled listing all the artists and festivals she has performed with and at since the age of nine. It was her father, also a bass player, who started her on her professional path, a journey which has so far brought her into contact with Steve Vai, Zakir Hussain, Quincy Jones, Vinnie Colaiuta, and Gergő Borlai.
