A Vigadó Jazz Club márciusi koncertje Lemezbemutató Koncert A Red Stones egy egyéni, nagyon intenzív zenét játszó jazz quartet. Kreatív zenei világukra a modern modal jazz, a post-bop, fusion jazz jellemző, de tartalmaz kortárs és népzenei elemeket is. Mostani műsoruk gerincét a 2025 novemberében megjelent Carousel című lemezük anyaga adja.

Urbán Orsi énekesnő és kiváló zenészekből álló zenekara régóta jelen van a hazai jazz palettán. Orsi karakteres, mély tónusú hangja meghatározza a műsoruk jellegét, amely egyben energikus és igényes. Zenei anyaguk groove-okra épül, műsorukon népszerű dallamok (Gershwintől Toto-ig) és saját kompozíciók is szerepelnek. Hangzásuk friss, egyedi megszólalásuk könnyen érthető, magas színvonalú muzsika.

Karosi Júlia a klasszikus zene felől érkezett a jazz műfajába, ami magas szintű énektechnikája és kifejezőképessége mellett repertoárjában is jól érezhető.

Many people were surprised when, after a successful two-year streak during which they won the A38 talent competition known as Talentométer and conquered stages across Europe, including Müpa Budapest, makrohang split up. They then caused another, more pleasant surprise with the news in 2023 that they would be reviving what they themselves call their “jazz for metalheads” sound.

This Blue Note album was compiled from the 1947–49 recordings of Theodore "Fats" Navarro following his death at the age of 26 due to illness and addiction. He played alongside the giants of the bebop generation, including Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, and Tadd Dameron.

The importance of the Blue Note record company can hardly be overstated. The famous blue note-labeled albums recorded the pioneers of bebop after 1945, and then the defining small-band recordings of the hard bop era – these have become the eternal high points of jazz. The soloists of the Modern Art Orchestra, starting from the recordings of the first great era, relive the moments recorded on the blue-and-white label records.

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Söndörgő is Müpa Budapest’s Ensemble of the Season, which means it will be giving several concerts that break with tradition in the course of the 2025-26 season. Among these will be an evening founded on international collaboration that features three outstanding musicians from the world-renowned progressive jazz-funk-fusion band Snarky Puppy: Michael League, Jay Jennings, and Chris Bullock.

Based on their acclaimed ECM Records album Transylvanian Dance (ECM, 2024) Romanian pianist Lucian Ban and American violinist Mat Maneri are rethinking through improvisation the 20th century Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s field recordings of folk songs from Transylvania. In their performance they use video projections that show rare original footages, excerpts from Bartók’s original wax cylinder audio recordings, handwritten manuscripts and photographs taken by Bartók during his field trips.

In 2026, Müpa Budapest will be spotlighting Hungarian jazz talent through the Jazz Showcase for the nineteenth year running. Alongside established performers, countless young artists have been introduced in recent years to dazzle the jury and captivate audiences. Now, for this special occasion, they return as a one-of-a-kind big band, like members of a large family.

Among the artists who have already appeared at Müpa Budapest, it is the return of esperanza spalding that has been anticipated longest and most eagerly. As the years have passed, she has become ever harder to pin down, and her sphere of interest now extends far beyond singing and playing the bass: She now defines herself as a composer, poet, dancer, therapist, storyteller, educator, community builder, and even as an advocate for soil regeneration.
