In the characters of the foolish Kósza and the more rational Csoda, Zoltán Czigány's tale re-creates the eternal pair, which parents might recognize as the Lolka and Bolka combo from their generation, or grandparents as the Stan and Pan duo from their own.

Molnár Ferenc nemzetközileg is elismert ifjúsági regénye számos színpadi és filmes adaptációt ihletett, Magyarországon az egyik legolvasottabb és legnépszerűbb irodalmi mű. A zenés verzió ötlete a 2005-ös A Nagy Könyv című műsor után született: Geszti Péter, Dés László és Grecsó Krisztián munkája, a szöveghez felhasználták Török Sándor átdolgozásának néhány elemét is.
